NTPC BHEL Power Projects Private Limited (NBPPL) is a Joint Venture Company of NTPC Ltd. and BHEL, both leading Public Sector Companies of Government of India. The Company was registered on 28.4.2008 under the Indian Companies Act 1956.

 

• PROMOTER COMPANIES


NTPC Ltd., a Maharatna in public sector of the Government of India is a premier power generation company of India having expertise and strength in areas such as setting up of coal, gas and hydro based power projects, operation and maintenance of power stations and sale of power to various State power utilities and other bulk customers. NTPC Ltd. has developed comprehensive in-house expertise in various facets of power generation from concept to commissioning, efficient operation to nurturing of ecology and environment in accordance with National Power Policy of the Government of India.

BHEL, a Maharatna in public sector of the Government of India, is the largest engineering and manufacturing enterprise of its kind in India, and is one of the leading international companies in the field of power plant equipment with state-of-the-art technologies. BHEL range of services extend from project feasibility through design, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning to after sales-service of equipment required for generation, transmission and distribution of coal, gas, hydro, nuclear and non-conventional-energy.

NTPC Ltd. and BHEL, have come together to harness their compatibility, common ownership, and also common legacy for the development of Power Sector as whole. The two promoter companies have complementary strengths, BHEL’s strengths in being strong in Project and Product Engineering, Manufacturing and Erection and commissioning and NTPC’s strengths in being Project development & management. NBPPL is created to leverage the core strengths & synergies of the respective promoter companies and supplement their EPC and equipment manufacturing capacities. This will help to meet the huge emerging demand for setting up of new power projects in the country.



• BUSINESS OBJECTIVE


The prime objective of the Company is to enhance the capability and capacity of the Power Sector and supplement the efforts of both the promoter companies (NTPC and BHEL).

The Main Objective of the Company is:
(a)  To explore, secure and execute EPC contract(s) for Power Plants and other Infrastructure Projects in India and abroad including plant engineering, project management, quality assurance, quality control, procurement, logistics, site management, erection and commissioning services.
(b) And to engage in manufacturing and supply of power equipments plants and other infrastructure project requirements in India and abroad.


• TECHNOLOGY UPGRADATION, RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT


To meet the Customer's expectation of contemporary technologies and faster deliveries, company lays great emphasis on the continuous up-gradation of products and related technologies, and development of new products. NBPPL has entered into technology tie-up for Coal Handling Plant (CHP) on 29th March 2011. Activities for technical/commercial tie-up for Ash Handling Plant are in progress.


• SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT


NBPPL undertook Tree plantation as an MOU 10-11 activity simultaneously over 120 trees were planted in the area and was continued further in succeeding year by planting 250 trees in 2011-12.



• PROJECTS OF COMBINED CYCLE PLANTS AT ASSAM & TRIPURA


NBPPL has received three (3) orders from BHEL for executing the Balance of Plant (BOP) packages for the gas based combined cycle plants (CCP). These projects are at Namrup , Assam(1x100 MW), Palatana, Tripura (2x363.3 MW) and Monarchak, Tripura (1x100 MW). These projects are under different stages of completion and are monitored closely by the promoters and the ministries periodically.
